Strategic definition

SDG-aligned climate action is the process of linking mitigation, adaptation, resilience and risk-reduction measures with the Sustainable Development Goals. It ensures that climate interventions are not evaluated only by environmental intent, but also by their measurable contribution to development outcomes.

Under this principle, a climate intervention should demonstrate a clear climate rationale, an SDG contribution, an implementation pathway, and practical indicators for monitoring progress.

Climate action should be assessed by its contribution to risk reduction, low-emission development, ecosystem resilience, institutional capacity and human well-being.
