Intelligence Level 04

Community Climate Action

Local institutions, field interventions, community knowledge and verified monitoring that connect climate evidence with practical stewardship and resilient development.

Locally Led Climate Action

Institutions and interventions at the field level

Village Development Committees

Community organizations for consultation, participation, stewardship, protection and locally accountable implementation.

Assisted Natural Regeneration

Protection and recovery of natural vegetation through community agreements, monitoring and reduced disturbance.

Plantations and Nurseries

Site-appropriate planting, indigenous species, community nurseries, survival monitoring and long-term management.

Watershed Interventions

Soil and water conservation, slope stabilization, runoff management, springs, drainage and landscape restoration.

Livelihoods and Inclusion

Women, youth, farmers, forest-dependent households and livelihood pathways that strengthen resilience and ownership.

Local Monitoring and Learning

Field records, photographs, coordinates, community feedback, survival checks and lessons for future interventions.

Community Evidence Model

Combine satellite signals with field verification

BOUNDARYVerified intervention or community area
BASELINEPre-intervention condition and risks
ACTIONANR, plantation, protection or watershed work
MONITORINGSatellite, field and community evidence
LEARNINGResults, limitations and adaptive management
Satellite-derived vegetation or land-change signals should not automatically be treated as proof of intervention success. Public conclusions must be checked against seasonality, terrain, clouds, land use, field records and community knowledge.

Bajaur Demonstration

Live imagery for community and restoration evidence

Live API connection

The first community-level viewer opens at the Bajaur pilot extent. It can display current or historical satellite imagery for a selected period while future verified ANR, plantation, watershed and VDC polygons are prepared for responsible publication.

No community boundary, household location or intervention polygon is included in this first release. Sensitive locations will remain excluded, and future overlays will require source verification and appropriate consent.

Community Safeguards

Participation, privacy and responsible representation

Informed Participation

Community information should be collected and presented through transparent consultation and appropriate consent.

Privacy and Security

Personal, sensitive, security-related or potentially harmful location information should not be publicly disclosed.

Attribution and Ownership

Local institutions and contributors should be recognized fairly without overstating FWI’s role in field interventions.

Evidence Integrity

Claims should distinguish reported activity, remotely sensed indication, field verification and independently confirmed outcome.
