From planetary trends to local action, the FWI Climate Evidence Explorer connects globally selectable administrative geography with live Earth-observation searches, thematic evidence and field-verification pathways.
Universal Administrative Explorer
Begin with a country or territory, then select a state, province or region and a district, county or municipality where available. The chosen boundary is highlighted and used as the exact Planetary Computer search geometry. Large countries must be narrowed to a smaller administrative area before high-resolution evidence is loaded. Water Stress and Drought currently provides NDMI and NDVI pilot indicators; the remaining themes retain transparent evidence-status labels.
Thematic Discovery
The map selector provides the fastest thematic search entry point, while the dedicated Evidence Themes page explains the correct datasets, limitations and validation pathway for each question.

Four Intelligence Levels
The architecture is organized by analytical level rather than by one country. Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Bajaur remain flagship implementation pathways, while the live map now supports worldwide country and subnational boundary discovery.

Data and Method
The viewer loads geoBoundaries gbOpen country, ADM1 and ADM2 geometries on demand and records source, represented year and licence information.
The selected polygon is sent through the Microsoft Planetary Computer STAC search and Data API or item TileJSON services.
Rainfall, climatic water balance, hydrology, official records and field evidence must complement satellite indicators before public conclusions are confirmed.
Displayed administrative boundaries support geographic analysis and do not express an FWI position on sovereignty, legal status or disputed territories.
